Small Town

Empty out my pockets I’ve got a few receipts today

Hang up my jacket I’m not going out again

Nothing’s changed in the town I was born

Just a few cracks and threads that have torn

Walk the same street, up the road to the shop

Pass the same people, with the same old small talk

‘How you doing’ like I really care

I don’t know you but here everythings shared

I’ve got one foot in front of me I cant look behind I am ready to run when the wind takes me

I’ve got one eye across the road, I have planned my exit, I have mapped my route, I am ready to leave

To leave this small town

Bought a one-way ticket, to the worlds other side

But it didn’t work out, its like I’ve gone back in time

Same people, with their same ideals

They think they know it all, they think they’re bubbles real

I’ve got one foot in front of me I cant look behind I am ready to run when the wind takes me

I’ve got one eye across the road, I have planned my exit, I have mapped my route, I am ready to leave

To leave this small town
