A Fairytale

You dream so big we stand in awe

Through your eyes we glimpse an invisible door

You show us mountains and oceans so blue

Across a sky shimmering in every hue

We see mermaids play and elves dance

And witches cast spells, they leave nothing to chance

In underground caverns of dark and ice

Monsters lurk and surface only to fight

A time of kings in battle, their speeches profound

Sitting in castles wrapped in cloaks of down

When Princes were absent and fair maidens cursed

and stepmothers were evil and plot only to hurt

When animals talk and birds sing tunes

And trees converse and even move

When the wicked were wicked, heroes were born

A time when words were simple and lines were drawn

You gave me wings and let me fly

You showed me magic and opened my eyes

I was read a story, in your words I was free

And it was as real as you or me.
